The Settlement Support New Plymouth is a clear point of contact for migrants, refugees and their families who come to live in New Zealand and make New Plymouth their home. Our services help them to overcome the challenges in a new country and successfully settle where they chose to live in Taranaki region. The service is situated within the New Plymouth District Council's Community Development Centre in Top Town Complex in the CBD of New Plymouth.
We provide friendly Information ,Support, Referral, Coordination , Orientation for the migrants, refugees and their families who choose to live in New Plymouth. How Can we help you?
1Assist you with information and advice that will support you to settle well in New Plymouth 2Individual referral on complex settlement related matters 3Information about housing, tenancy, drivers license, property, taxation, family issues, counsellling, consumer rights and other general matters 4Information about workshops on a range of settlement topics such as Relating well in New Zealand, NZ education system, employment, legal system etc.- see bottom of this page to download the information package. 5Referral to employment and job search advice 6Referral to community groups and other organisations for additional settlement support 7Advice about the best English language course to meet your resettlement and employment needs 8Access to Multilingual Language Line to non-English speaking clients 9Referral to Taranaki Multi-Ethnic Council to link with the ethnic support network Aim of Settlement Support, New Plymouth (Goal 3 of the New Zealand Settlement Strategy)

The New Zealand Settlement Strategy took a collaborative approach across various government integrating the resources to deliver the best outcomes for migrants
