Saturday 27 March Taranaki Multi Ethnic Extravaganza – Full day

The Taranaki Multi-Ethnic Extravaganza hosts cultural groups for fabulous day of fun, food, music, dance, art, craft, children’s entertainment and so much more, every year ..The colourful parade starts at 10.30am along the main streets in which ethnic communities’ get-together and enter floats and walking groups.

There will be 35 ethnic footstalls and 56 arts & craft stalls and talented local and overseas cultural performers. This exciting day is attended by 11-12,000 people from all  over Taranaki and other regions. Over the years the extravaganza has been a great success

Migrant employer of the Year Award – October 2010  Date to be announced

The local firms who recruit and retain skilled migrants from overseas can enter this award.  This is being used to raise Employers awareness of how well  migrants can fill skill gaps and how employers can introduce good practice into their recruitment and retention of skilled workers.

Wednesday 10 November 2010 Intercultural Awareness and Communication (IAC) Programme by the Office of Ethnic Affairs

This  programme is designed to enable participants to develop more awareness of their cultural characteristics and those of others so they can communicate more effectively across cultural boundaries.

 It focuses on using effective communication to build the kinds of relationships that will lead to effective workplace interaction.
